So we
just got back from the Dominican and we got to kick back, relax, shake off our
jet lag…. NOT. Monday was our Isaiah test and studying on a plane is not the
easiest thing to do. But the test was pretty easy for the most part. This time
I decided to study way in advance and I ended up getting a 94%. We also started
a new class, Pauline Epistles. It’s definitely going to be a tough class. Lots
of reading.
This was
probably one of the hardest weeks for me in Joshua. I found out from Rich and
Jen that nobody wanted to hire me for summer staff. I guess people said that I
complain a lot which I honestly never noticed. I did realize that sometimes I
pretend to complain to be funny but I can see how that can reflect as being
serious. Jen and Rich fought for me to stay so Griff in Support Services so I
have the month of February working in SS to prove myself and see if he wants to
hire me. If not, I’ll have to leave Joshua. All of Joshua has been tough but
not impossible, but this is seriously stretching me.
Our
speaker this week was PJ and Sheri Lewis. I totally feel like God placed them
in my life at this time for a reason. The first night PJ talked about what he
calls The Bottom Line. It has three components. 1) God is in control. 2) God
knows what’s best. 3) God loves me. This has definitely been resonated with me
this week. Along with the parable of the talents, where the master tell his
first two servants “Well done, good and faithful servant.” So with that, I want
to work hard and be able to look back and think, “would God say well done to me
right now?” So right now, I really need to trust God knows what He’s doing and
that He has a plan for my life. My Joshua brothers and sisters have been really
awesome in keeping me accountable to no complaining and working hard. It’s
really great to know how much they all care about me and really want me to stay
here. It motivates me that much more to do my best. Prayers for all of this would
be totally appreciated. And I need to keep praying about it too. Be in constant
communication.
The rest
of my week consisted of studying for an Israel test and writing a paper for
Isaiah, which I ended up getting a 99% on!!! And then starting work in SS. Plus
it was a long weekend so I worked Friday to Monday. I got to work with Esther
most of the weekend. She’s really nice. She invited me to her housed for dinner
a couple times and we talked about art and music. I’m really excited to
possibly work with her over summer. So
we’ll see what the Lord has!
